Punters got a huge surprise when they decided to quiz themselves on a machine in Harrys Byrnes Pub at the Heineken launch of ‘It’s Your Call’.
Jonah Lomu, the former All Blacks legend was hiding inside the pub quiz machine! Guests at the Heineken, ’It’s Your Call’ event in the pub took part in the quiz and were rewarded with signed rugby balls by Lomu – however they were baffled when the signed rugby balls came out with personalised messages to them. As the quests answered questions on the screen, the All Blacks legend would quickly sign the ball, add a message including; “Like the Beard” or “Love the Top” and insert it into the vending slot on the quiz machine to confused and amused faces!
It was only when Shane Horgan arrived into Harry Byrnes Irish Pub to help Lomu out of his hiding place in the quiz machine did the crowd understand what was going on!
Speaking after the prank, Lomu said that “The Irish are known for their sense of humour across the world, so I was delighted to put that to the test, Seeing peoples’ faces as they tried to figure out what was going on was a real highlight.”
